SCORPIONS

Founded in 1965 in Hannover, Scorpions are the most successful band to ever come out of Germany. They also happen to be one of my very favourite bands, so I made a thread to introduce most of the key members from their most successful lineups ~

Rudolf Schenker

- rhythm guitar & backing vocals, occasional lead guitar & rare lead vocals ('65 - present)
- founded the original incarnation at 16 in 1965
- primary music composer
- only tends to play flying V's
- has massive flying V collection
- loves yoga & cats
- is WILD

Klaus Meine

- lead vocals ('69 - present), rare backing vocals
- sings on all recorded albums
- is only 5'4"
- passionate humanitarian
- lover of learning different languages (excl English/German has also sung in Japanese, Russian, Spanish, French etc)
- hardcore Beatles stannie

Matthias Jabs

- lead guitar, occasional rhythm guitar ('78 - present)
- previously the youngest member
- guitar obsessed, owns a guitar shop
- responsible for more "metal" direction after he joined
- usually plays explorers
- concerning love for animal print & stripes
- goofball

Uli Jon Roth

- lead guitar, occasional lead vocals ('73-'78)
- literal guitar wizard & hero of your heroes, godfather of the "neo-classical" style
- invented his own type of guitar: Sky Guitar
- vegetarian
- lover of turquoise jewellery & velvet
- hardcore Jimi Hendrix worshiper

Michael Schenker

- lead guitar (69-73;78-79)
- Rudys kid bro
- played early Scorps gig at 11
- was 16 during 1st album
- left to join UFO
- has own band: MSG
- guitar god, influenced many incl Rhoads to Slash & most of thrash scene
- only plays flying Vs
- is his own worst enemy

Herman Rarebell

- drums ('77 - '96)
- nicknamed "ze German"
- lots of credits for song lyrics including Rock You Like a Hurricane - was the go to for "sexy" songs
- is a producer & co-owns a record company
- Ted N*gent backed out of fighting him once
- dry humour
- hell-raiser

Francis Buchholz

- bass player ('73-'92)
- studied to be a mechanical engineer
- owns PA & stage lighting company
- tutored Matthias in maths at school
- HATES hot weather
- managed the band
- fancies himself a comedian/forever cracking jokes
- had a glow up, but still a noodle

They fall under classic rock, hard rock & metal, with ballads & bangers & are definitely worth trying out If you wanna know more about them/their music please feel free to dm me
