for years the overdrive rangers have been stigmatized as “quitters” due largely in part to the events of Once a Ranger, this thread is to show all the rangers throughout the series that have also filed for unemployment

Part 1: Precedent

the most renowned case of layoffs happened in MMPR with zack, jason and trini putting their two weeks in after they win a free trip to switzerland. Kinda messed up to abandon ur post cuz you wanna achieve “world peace” or whatever

eric quits the silver guardians but its unclear if he is going to abandon his quantum ranger powers. he is leaving the city so i assume he had no plans to continue fighting but he deserves a break after carrying the entire series so i’m gonna grant him 4 weeks of paid time off

Katie has an identity crisis when realizing her job as a time force officer could change the future and refuses to fight. all her friends abandon her except wes, its pretty tragic like that’s ur friend?? The court pardons Katie and sentences her friends to 3000 years probation.

when alex comes back to life he snatches the time force red position back, leaving wes jobless. and wes just lets him. Does he even consider punching himself in the balls to keep alex from being born? NO! Because wes is an unemployed loser

Taylor quits like every five seconds. I think the whole team dramatically storms out at one point or another like they were New Edition or Fleetwood Mac or some shit. Except Alyssa, queen of tenure.

Blake and Hunter took a leave of absence for like 3 episodes and Adam wasn’t even there so i think they should be bullied more than the overdrive rangers.

Conner was gonna quit to play soccer so he could support his daughter as a single father. He didn’t tho so he’s a good ranger but a terrible father and his parental rights were revoked.

Blaze and roxy would rather be in a coma than be rangers, their evil counterparts can morph and still refuse to call themselves rangers. When they wake up they quit the entire organization!!! That’s dedication to the cause which is fuck being a ranger

Part 2: The Accused Party

Once a Ranger has the overdrive team lose the ability to morph thus ending their careers as power rangers and as a result they decide to leave saving the world to Adam and his backup dancers cuz they’re really good at it and Andrew Hartford doesn’t even have a dental plan

their logic is sound and they’re being very reasonable and mature about the whole situation considering unlike other teams, being power rangers is their job.

Point: overdrivers still have their civilian powers

Counterpoint: well u know what they have them while they’re rangers too and it isn’t enough considering they always end up morphing. Why don’t u use ur BRAIN power to form an original thought

they also DO fight with their civilian powers after their morphers are destroyed IN THE EPISODE and they get their asses kicked!!!!!!!!!

Point: they’re heroes and they gave up too easily, they should’ve found a way to get their powers back

Counterpoint: good thing thats literally what the fuck they did mr. can’t-wait-a-second

alot of rangers on this list did not ever try to get their powers back or left while they STILL had their powers. Just bc u can dismiss it with “bts drama/recasting” doesn’t mean its not canon that they’re all quitting quitters who quit!!!

Point: mack is the only one who really wanted to be a ranger again, the other rangers only did it bc he did

in the end lady gaga gave them trhe sword to get their powers back bc of their conviction and friendship aka ALL OF THEM being worthy

Closing Argument

The overdrive rangers have an unfair reputation as quitters when self doubt is a staple in any hero’s journey. Not just in power rangers but in all forms of the superhero genre.

You can see with the evidence i’ve provided that they aren’t the only ones to “quit” yet they are constantly called the worst team/season bc of it even tho only 3 episodes involve this type of storyline.

U don’t have to like the overdrive rangers! U don’t have to think operation overdrive is a good series! But if ur gonna critique the team for something that countless other rangers are also guilty of then thats discrimnation!! It’s overdrivephobic and u better lawyer up asshole!
