Today I would like to share with you some of the abuse I've been getting, in the interest of raising the visibility of what people have to live with every day of their lives. Abuse just for talking about what they love or having a conversation with friends.

I am cis. I'm not the most feminine and don't try to be. I'm happy with who I am. A certain few people on twitter seem to think I'm a trans woman. Honestly that's a complement to me because you are all so beautiful! But with that comes the abuse.

Trans people have to endure this every day. There's a lot of talk about people over exaggerating abuse because they've not seen it and I want to share this to prove it's real and so you can see how horrible it is.

Here are three of the worst messages I have received.

I have the privilege of laughing this off, but it's not funny. These people are talking about me killing myself. They are attacking me just for being passionate about something or standing up for a friend.

Twitter support said the first two violated their rules. But the account is still active and the tweets have not been removed.

All I'm asking is you keep your eyes open for this behaviour. Report it. Don't feed the trolls but offer support if it's appropriate. And most importantly understand that it's real and it's hurting people.
