Dear baby comics writers,
The former *can* work (I’ve done it), but you’re asking the artist to carry a hell of a load to MAKE it work.
Ps, baby cartoonists, there’s no reason you have to try and make it work. Just change it to something that does and move on with your day.
Pps, I will not be listening to any arguments or rebuttals.
Since I guess it bears repeating, it CAN work. It’s just rarely worth the effort.
Hey so a few of you are getting all huffy about this. There’s no need. It’s just a thread for young artists to learn to take scripted panel breakdowns as suggestions, and for young writers to be aware of when they may send those artists down a storytelling cul de sac.
Though, if you’ve read this far and aren’t just jumping on that first tweet, you already know that.

Stay safe, kids.
Hey kids, just popping back in to say I’ve muted this thread. Please don’t feel bad about anything in it. Please don’t feel it’s an indictment of any mode of working. Comics are hard and if you’re doing the work my hat’s off to you.
But also please go score your rhetorical art school talking points elsewhere.
