her sweet kiss relates to merlin too,,,, wait
there’s parallels to how jaskier would feel about geralt’s destiny, to how merlin could feel about arthur’s? “her love’s as unfair as a crook” the idea that destiny was supposed to be fair (they were supposed to unite albion) but it wasn’t, and their destiny was stolen from them
“it steals all my reason, commits every treason, of logic, with naught but a look” could be merlin’s fear of mordred, especially in season five? “her current is pulling you closer” could be the way that arthur seems to be pulled to camlann, no matter how hard merlin tries
“the red sky at dawn, is giving a warning, you fool, better stay out of sight” well first of all. this???
secondly, “better stay out of sight” could definitely mean merlin hiding himself and his identity as emrys
“i’m weak, my love, and i am wanting. if this is the path i must trudge” merlin wanting for the destiny they were supposed to have, arthur uniting albion and the golden age that they were robbed of? his acceptance that he will wait for arthur to rise again?
“i’ll welcome my sentence, give to you my penance, garroter, jury and judge” could be merlin’s acknowledgement that he has actions he has to atone for, and he’s appointing arthur as his jury and judge, when he rises again ?
“but the story is this, she’ll destroy with her sweet kiss” is so descriptive of merlin and arthur’s story. every time that they come close, something ruins it- with destiny’s sweet kiss 👀
anyways this is a bit of a reach but. maybe?
