I know alot of people are gonna have strong feelings about this one but this is just my opinion:

The Last of Us 2 is better than the first The Last of Us
I just beat The Last of Us for the first time about 2 months ago, so it's still kind of fresh in my memory. It's not like a beat it years ago and don't remember how good it is.

Both of these games are 10/10 games in my opinion, but the sequel just slightly edges out the original
There's no denying the sequel has far superior combat, & it feels way more interactive and personal with the many different ways you can stealth kill or just fight in general

Maybe that comes with the territory of being a newer game, but it's something to consider when comparing
More new infected types, my favorite were the stalkers. They were hella smart & they were the only stealthy infected. The very first scene they introduced them had me scared af, I was going through that dark area slow af. I didn't know when they would jump scare around any corner
I feel like there were way more personal confrontations in the sequel, like Ellie vs Abby (both times) Ellie vs Nora, Abby vs Isaac, etc.

Not to say the first game didn't have it's personal confrontations, like Ellie vs David.

But the sequel just felt way more personal overall
Then there were the crazy action sequences. Tommy with the sniper, Ellie & Jesse escaping in the car chase, Abby and Lev at the Haven on fire, Ellie chasing Nora, Abby in the beginning running past 100's of infected in the snow

The sequel had more crazy awesome action sequences
The boss fights, like Abby vs the buff Seraphite that she rips his face off, the giant blob monster that was 10 infected combined, the Abby vs Ellie fights.

There was one crazy boss fight in the first game with Ellie vs David, but the sequel had alot more of these which I liked
Alot of people hate on Abby for killing Joel, and I do agree that maybe he died off to early for shock value

But you can't deny Abby's actions and motivations all made sense 100%, you also can't deny that Abby had the most character development out of everyone. Lev and Yara etc.
At the end of the day, they're both 10/10 games, I love them both. But if I have to summarize this thread:

The sequel is better because it was more adventurous/crazy action sequences, more personal confrontations, better combat, better infected, more interactive gameplay overall
