Premier's office has turned down a request by the NS Press Gallery to resume in-person news conferences and availabilities. Reporters had agreed to abide by all Public Health recommendations and were willing to wear face masks. #nspoli

Full disclosure - I am President of the NS Press Gallery. I was told there was no reason given to why we cannot return to a more normal way of operating. #nspoli

What I know from covering Province House for 25 years and politics in Quebec and Ontario before that is - limiting questions and choosing who will ask those questions is a well-established communications control strategy. #nspoli

If there is no valid Public Health reason why reporters cannot be in the same room as the Premier or his ministers - I will let you draw the logical conclusion. #nspoli
