ive met nonbinary koreans, korean drag queens, korean lesbians, bisexual korean men, we had a BLM protest organized by a korean man a few weeks ago, koreans who know the history of slurs like the n word and r word... korea isn't the backwards country you think it is.
at some point you have to stop blaming the education system and the homogenized society and you need to start holding people accountable. none of us were taught this, we had to learn. same with idols, companies, etc. if they're being ignorant, it's by choice.
and another thing before i mute this tweet: this wasn't about lgbt issues, this was more about how every single time an idol or company "make a mistake" and are insensitive, people jump to their defense saying how ignorant korea is and how we cant hold them to the same standard.
idk how to tell you this, but korean people, especially young koreans, are aware. they consume media the same way you and i do, and while i agree we have to educate before boycotting, you have to stop treating koreans like they're babies and start holding them accountable.
but regarding lgbt.... do you think the rest of the world got to this point of "acceptance" thru love and light? stonewall was a riot. we've fought to be accepted. it's not crazy to think that people need to be uncomfortable before we're accepted in other places too.
so don't take away the happiness of an lgbt fan when they say "bts gay" or whatever, because i promise you they're fine with it and are more than happy to be a point of strength for lgbt/queer fans as well.

also respect other religions ffs its not hard
