𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱

Many of you have been asking me how to contribute to open source or how can we start?
This post is completely dedicated to all of you.
This is a long and informative thread.
Keep reading and share with your people.

Before contributing, you should know why is it important to contribute to open source and how will it help you grow your career.
1. Improve coding skills.
2. Communication with like-minded people all over the world.
3. Teamwork.
4. Remote work.

5. Great job opportunities, yes you can land a good job by contributing to open source.
6. Great portfolio.
7. Adds value to your career.
8. Work on the real projects/products.

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀:
1. Knowledge of Git and Github.
2. Coding, but not important, you can also contribute to some documentation of the product.
3. Laptop and internet.

Now, there are many ways to start contributing, I will divide them into two parts:

𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.
Many organizations promote contributing to open source, to name a few: @gsoc, @girlscriptsoc.

@hacktoberfest, @outreachy, @studentcodein, BOSS (Bountiful Open Source Summer) by @CodingBlocksIn, @MLHacks, and many more.

𝟮. 𝗕𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳

If you want to start your open source journey by yourself, it can tough at first, I started my journey by myself, it was really tough at the start, but eventually

I got familiar with all the stuff. You can go to http://github.com  and search for the skills you are good at, and search for the related projects and start improving the code.
My belief and learning through open-source- Start helping each other, you will grow immensely.
