This weekend, I’ve been invited to go on a campervan trip to Kanachanaburi which I’m really excited about. As a kid growing up, we often went on campervan or canal boat trips during the summer holidays. There is a culture for this kind of holiday in Europe. But not so much here.
When I told my Thai friends what I was doing they couldn’t see the point. They would rather just drive to a resort and sleep in a hotel bed. As far as I know, there aren’t many camping sites outside of national parks. So I’m curious to learn more during this trip.
I will post more pictures of the campervan later. Feel free to ask questions. The daily rental for this campervan is 6,000 Baht. More info about this on their website: https://www.campervan-thailand.com  if you have done something like this in #Thailand, please let me know of your experience
Someone sent me this link to a website that has a map of camping sites around Thailand: https://thaicampingadventure.blogspot.com  Soneone also suggested that you could probably park your campervan overnight in a temple for free. They may even allow you to hook up to electricity for a donation.
In conclusion, I don’t think campervan holidays in #Thailand will ever be successful. Mainly because hotels & restaurants are both widely available & cheap too. You are not saving money as campervan rentals are expensive. Cheaper to hire a car & book a bungalow in a national park
