♥︎ kim taehyung, an underrated member of dance line and his stunning skills; a thread from a dancer’s pov

hi this is gonna flop but its ok :] first of all i would like to say that im not some super professional, but i spend most of my time dancing and ive been dancing for around 12 years now and currently in a professional crew :[

this is also my personal opinion and observation so if you don’t agree with it, it’s okay :D

taehyung has his own style, just like jhope, jimin and jungkook do. you can see how each of them execute the choreo differently from each other

a brief explanation on 3J’s styles

hoseok: very street, hints of popping, locking and lots of isolation
jimin: elegant, flowy, you can see colors of contemporary when he dances
jungkook: urban, powerful, HUGE movements

it really shows in this stage

taehyung’s style ! ♡

1. tae uses Lots of texture

Textures are like dynamics and musical articulation in piano. They accentuate the music and match the changes and flow of the song, as well as add performance technique to a piece.

2. when he’s going full-out, he’s clean and sharp. he likes to accentuate certain movements; again, playing around with textures

3. taehyung pays attention to every little movement and adds a texture to each of them. his body control is CRAZY i tell u !! his isolation is also so so so so good ! u have no idea how awkward this move can be ..

4. he doesn’t usually have explosive movements, he uses his power and energy into controlling his body rather than pushing it all out
(an example of someone who Does have explosive movements is jungkook :])

here u can see the movements he chooses to soften and the movements he chooses to hit :D i can see he has a Lot of basics and techniques, i bet they’ve done popping training before, bc tae knows how to hit/stop his movements rlly well :)

he doesn’t lose to jm & jk when it comes to this choreo !! i personally think his style suits brian’s choreo a lot <3

taehyung gives energy and texture to small movements like simple a hand or head movement. he can control every inch of his body so well. look at the ISOLATION ___

i cant get over this. hes barele moving his whole body nd the focal point of the move is on his hand but he controls it so well that the texture comes out so smooth but also powerful

but dont worry, taehyung can be explosive and powerful too

here’s another small move that tae put texture into. we know he’s a detail-oriented person, but having that personality trait in his dance style is so sexc

keone madrid (the choreographer for not today and a lot lf their other songs) makes choreos that fit taehyung’s style a lot. i personally think that’s why he likes to put tae as center

keone also gave his genius idea of the “coat dance” to singularity. the choreo is stunning & fits taehyung so well. when it won choreo of the year, he thanked bts/bighit for letting him create w/o having to downgrade his choreo, bts was one of the only artists who told him that

he’s as light as a feather !! look at him and those super controlled jumps !!!! brian’s choreos tend to have unique shapes but he pulls them off easily ! he really does suit brian’s choreos

i shouldve said this before but !! heres a definition of what iso/isolation is !

"Movement of one part of the body independently of the rest." This means that you isolate one part of your body, which moves, while the rest of your body remains completely still.

conclusion: bighit announcing that tae is officially part of dance line was Bullshit. hes never a part of dance projects, ever since he became part of dance line jm, hobi nd jk suddenly became 3J. theyre avoiding “dance line”, theyre avoiding giving tae more dance exposure.

taehyung is so talented. he dances so well its insane. dont waste his talent please :( his efforts and all the mistreatment needs to be known ! despite being mistreated, he still does his best nd gives us a big smile ! taehyung truly doesnt deserve us </3

his memory is crazy ! he memorizes moves so fast nd learns them super quick. nd he still remembers choreos from Years back ... i cant even rmbr the choreo i learnt last week bye

its either hes a genius or his muscle memory is out of this world ,, or both
