Jenrick& #39;s an unusual name. There& #39;s a Bill Jenrick (79) who co-owns a large gas-fire/wood burning stove business, Charlton & Jenrick ltd in Telford, Shropshire. He& #39;s been active in the heating industry via industry body HHIC, who host fringe events at the Tory Party Conference 1/x
Still, it could just be a massive coincidence. Then again how exactly has Robert Jenrick (38) earned enough in his very short pre-politics career, to afford a £2.5M Westminster town house, another London property, or indeed Eye Manor which he bought for £1.1M when he was 27. 2/x
apparently his wife is a high powered company lawyer. She does appear on Chambers Rankings - in Band 5. Would she have earned enough to enable them to buy up all this property? The Mail in 2014 suggested she earned £500k a year (though where they got that from, who knows). 3/x
Jenrick bandies about his time at auction house Christies, but more intriguingly is his time working for US lawyers Skadden, in Moscow. Skadden represented some prominent oligarchs, as @Byline_Media recently reported. https://bylinetimes.com/2020/06/23/sweeney-investigates-what-connects-robert-jenrick-to-the-gambino-crime-family-and-putins-oligarchs/">https://bylinetimes.com/2020/06/2... Berkner also worked for Skadden. 4/x
And finally... Berkner is a Director of Conservative Friends of Israel. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/854527/Ministerial_interests_list.pdf">https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governmen... of which Jenrick is a huge supporter. https://cfoi.co.uk/communities-secretary-robert-jenrick-hails-incredible-achievement-of-the-state-of-israel-at-cfi-parliamentary-reception/">https://cfoi.co.uk/communiti... Seems like Jenrick& #39;s £40M "good turn" for porn king Richard Desmond is but one of many questions about him. /ends
Addendum: of course I should have mentioned Priti Patel, who had to resign from the cabinet after "freelancing" in Israel, on a trip organised by the CFOI. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-41853561">https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-p...
