Throwing my hat in the Jenny slate missy argument here I personally don’t think the person behind the voice matters as much as how they represent their character for example Cleveland brown has been played by a white dude since his first appearance and he’s become iconic for 1/2

2/2 his voice and nobody else could ever replace him and he’s done a great job representing his character and his race and he’s just one example of a white person voicing a black character
