Today the INC twitter has gone on a tirade, frothing at the mouth about a ‘fake’ poster, that cyber comrades ‘apparently’ created and has been circulating - on the UN event, for honouring public servants. But is it such a one-off thing? Don’t unofficial posters circulate often?
The crime they're accused of here is that the poster uses the logo of a ministry of Republic of North Korea & UN. While I hav no idea who is behind the poster, I don’t think this is such a grave 'crime', to be so outraged about. Did the webinar not happen? Was she not a panelist?
After all, apart from the incomplete sentence, none of the details in the poster was false. And like one of those guys were saying, Shailaja Teacher doesn’t ‘need’ a poster anyway. Her work speaks for itself.

So, what has opposition done so far? Let's take a look.
The opposition leader Mr. Ramesh Chennithala has gone on record over & over again, his nagging directed towards the comrades in the cyber realm. He claims to be a victim of online harassment. Now, THAT is something.
They have a penchant of making themselves look foolish without any help from the comrades anyway, and that’s no secret by now. However, the recent presser by Mr. Mullapally Ramachandran – who’s clearly been feeling a lack of spotlight on himself – wherein he launched
a tirade of baseless and crude allegations on the Health Minister, labelling her ‘Rock Dancer’ hit a new low. The same was taken up by their cyber harassment squad, who went on to make digitally manipulated images maligning the lady, which are not suitable to be displayed here
They also stooped to calling Ms. Laura Spinney, the famous science journalist, and authoress of 'Pale Rider', a paid PR, for her article on The Guardian, that brought global attention to Kerala's fight against Covid.
The less said here, the better.
In the backdrop of the events unfurling nowadays, lets take a look at the cyber attacks unleashed by them here.

1. The congress "stalwart" from Trithala, Balram rained abuse on the much-acclaimed authoress K. R Meera on the pretext of her disagreeing with him. Can't expect any
less from a person who would bad mouth even AKG.

2. Benyamin was on the receiving end of a ton of vitriol during the Covid situation. The language used was deplorable to say the least.

3. Mercykuttyamma was the next recepient of trash talk from the Congress and the League.
4. One of Mr. Ramesh's mates, an MLA had a case registered against him for spewing abuse online -I’d rather not go into details, let’s just say that he attacked the wife of a person who replied, with retorts
of very vulgar, and sexual nature, which gradually petered out
with a statement that the account could have been ‘hacked’. Very original, that! (Yeah, we've all heard that before, I am sure)

5. Satheeshan's rain of abuse was followed by Eldose Kunnappally (you know him as the MLA who garnered fame by appearing on BBC,
sleeping during the a speech by former Governor P Sathasivam), going on a rampage abusing men and women without discrimination, while trying to justify the abusive actions of Mr. Satheeshan.
6. A girl, Hanaan who had the gall to criticise Ramesh Chennithala was next in line and found herself being bombarded with the worst filth laden assault. It ws worse than what Mercykuttiamma & KR Meera faced. Starting with insults for her apparent ungratefulness for criticising
the opposition leader (after living in the house they sponsored for her - which by the way isn't true and she's clarified that she did turn down the offer) it turned into the vilest of abuses of a sexual nature.

7. The 'Rock Dancer' incident has already been mentioned,
so I shall refrain from going into further details on that again.

8. Sister Lini’s family have been harassed by the goons online and offline. Her husband was hounded at workplace for daring to speak out against the lies spouted by Mr. Ramachandran (who couldn't even remember
her name and had to be prompted).
A case has been registered against these degenerates.

9. Let’s not even mention the sexist cartoons which INC Twitter shared (one which even resulted in a defamation suit by Deshabhimani), which generated much heated debate online.
10. This thread would not be complete without mentioning the regular casteist attacks towards CM, and the posters which appear at frequent intervals, even in the social media handles of congress inner circles, and those holding official posts, lobbing at him, slurs of casteist
nature (the ones of ‘chethhalla’ fame). And oh, the vitriol that followed the announcement of Ms. Veena Vijayan’s marriage.
Grow up guys, this is 2020.
This is what the situation has come to.
The army of cyber goons who use filth & abuse to target opponents are the smokescreen behind which Mr. Chennithala and his cronies feign being good leaders. They should have the minimum sense to look at their own actions in the mirror
before they criticise others
Is there any measures being undertaken to remove this strain of maligning politics from their methods? Shouldn't that be their primary focus?

Wrapping up, it is imperative that they reassess their own capacity for online harassment & filth mongering
before they criticise others for the same thing.
So, tend to the dirt on your face before you comment on another's sleeve, dear minister of the opposition – and yes - you, I mean his lackeys as well.
// End of rant.

p.s. It's not in my nature to do threads. I don't have the patience to sit down for it, but I just couldn't help myself this time.
