Oh FYI: Today was my last day at TIDAL.
I appreciate everyone who has reached out to congratulate me on quitting, but to be clear—I was fired.

The severance amount was insulting so I didn& #39;t accept or sign the shaky NDA because I rather have the ability to speak for myself.
Remember when TIDAL was dragged for hosting a Drink Champs ep about BLM ft. Russell Simmons? & people concluded they don& #39;t respect/support Black women?

Somehow, the internal response to that was to fire the Black woman whose job it is to tweet promotion for said show...
FYI: Before anything gets to a social team, it has to be approved by everyone above. And in this case, this a show TIDAL doesn& #39;t even produce — just hosts in app.

So there& #39;s room to not publish questionable content. Still, everyone saw it & said "*shrug* Cool."
I reluctantly posted (not the first time I posted something I didn& #39;t agree with) but that& #39;s the job I suppose.

When I flagged the online dragging the senior mgmt narrative flipped into: "I had ~no idea~ of Russell& #39;s assault allegations. If YOU knew, why would you post it?"
And I was gone the next day. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙃" title="Auf den Kopf gestelltes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Auf den Kopf gestelltes Gesicht">

In any other case, I& #39;d be embarrassed to admit to being fired. But being dropped for not agreeing with distasteful decision making doesn& #39;t feel like an L to me.
After two terrible social media jobs, I say all that to say this: In every company, social managers don& #39;t make the calls but are always at fault when shit hits the fan.

So please think about that before applying to your next cool job. </end>
