Bookmarking this nice review of direct and indirect spread of viruses, incl flu, SARS, MERS, fr 2016, which said airborne likely. Also has survival times.
Just one of hundreds of articles that suggested this, and how this was ignored is beyond me. https://www.journalofhospitalinfection.com/article/S0195-6701(15)00367-9/pdf

Ignore however the cutoff of 5uM in the diagram on page 1, as that just repeats the incorrect dogma that anything under 5uM falls to floor w/in 1m.
Same as with R value for measles of 12-18, it's just something that gets repeated ad nauseum.

Let's start with Pringle's 1749 book about army medicine. Some quick highlights:
- Avoid pent up air (pic 1)
- The more fresh air, the better (pic 2)
- Set up hospitals in the most spacious buildings you can, with fewest patients, and best airflow. Broken windows are good.

Amusing side note: what makes it hard is convincing people to open the doors and windows!
Some more interesting snippets out of Pringle's book here. I'll save it here while I'm staring at it. https://twitter.com/jmcrookston/status/1287734986544644096
