The last time that I personally called the cops was when I was hit while leaving Dunkin Donuts a few years ago...

I was making a right turn after several minutes of waiting & the asshole behind me decided that I was taking too long so she drove up on the flower bed & sidewalk +
Crashed into the side and back of my car pushing me into another lane. Luckily I missed the car traveling in that lane.

She then got out and threw her coffee at my window and was banging on it AFTER SHE HIT ME.

I called the cops to come & take a report... +
I also saw the store manager at DD come out and she had seen EVERYTHING. I asked her if it was possible to get a copy of the surveillance tape and she said "yes". I also took pictures of everything & she said she would come back out when they got there.

It took him like 45 min +
When he finally got there, he immediately went to go speak with the other driver. They were laughing it up so I knew ATP that they must know each other.

I got out of my car to go speak with him and he immediately grabbed his waistband and yelled at me to get back in my car +
When he finally came over to me, his smile that he had for the other driver was gone & he was combative & abusive. He kept telling me what the other driver had already said & her story made no sense bc the back of my car can't just hit her unless I'm reversing, which i wasn't. +
I asked him if I could show him the pics & video & also get a statement from the DD manager. He told me that he did not need it bc I was lying.

Fast forward a few days:

With his help & blatantly false report that clearly helped the other driver, GEICO was blaming me 100% +
I retold the story to Geico and put in a complaint with SCPD who refused to change the report and would not call me back.

Luckily, I was able to speak with someone at Geico who asked for all of the information and DID take the statement from the DD manager +
They overturned their decision only because I had all of that information.

It turns out, that the person that hit me is a clerk for the courts and her mom is some bigshot lawyer that is well known in town/with SCPD.
Anyway, I posted about this at the time when it happened and posted the pictures/video.

I have also talked about my other experiences with cops. None of them have been positive.

So again, fuck the police + fuck anyone who tries to be like "dOnT cAlL tHeM wHeN yOu NeEd HelP" +
Don't fucking worry about me... I purposely avoid it FOR A REASON. #AbolishThePolice#FuckThePolice
ahhh found the video and diagram that I had to draw for GEICO because the fuckface cops had ME as the driver in the back on his. (my car was the black car waiting to leave the parking lot. The white car is the one that jumped the curb and hit me mid turn) https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=Eut_c1rONyc&feature=youtu.be
My other experiences were either bc I was being harassed (pulled over for no reason & taken out of my car), accused of smelling like weed (I smoke maybe like 2x a year & didn't any of those times) accused of being drunk (nope), accused of shoplifting/matching description (nope)
Matching a description on the subway and being searched/having my bag searched (this happened every couple of months when I was living in the city), +
Being accused of using a fake ID and having my drivers license (real) cut up outside of a bar by a bouncer IN FRONT OF COPS and then being ticketed for driving without it by the same cops who followed me when I left 10 minutes later bc I couldn't get into the bar. +
the worst was probably when my friend showed up on my doorstep barely conscious holding her dog and a bag and was bloody and bruised from head to toe with handcuffs still attached to her wrist by a cab driver...
i was the only person in town where she remembered my address. Her ex was drugging and trafficking her and had her handcuffed to a toilet in his apartment. She escaped and came to me. I called for an ambulance. The first 2 cop cars that came said it wasn't their area +
that they just happened to be nearby and had to leave. I called again. Another cop (a woman) came by and she wasn't interested in hearing about what had happened with the others but waited til EMTs got there and we went to Elmhurst Hospital. +
When we got there, the questions were victim blaming bullshit. Asking about her sexual history, drug use, etc... I basically kicked one of them out of the room when I was there and demanded that the hospital send over a social worker. +
While traveling and at home I have been asked if I am a citizen. This has happened in NY (both NYC and Long Island), Arizona, and California and this would usually happen when I was watching them harming someone else and would step in +
Other interactions have been while out in public &I've seen everything from them beating/arresting elderly/disabled/homeless ppl to cozying up with white supremacists (individual&groups). There is NO reason why our communities would need this kind of "protection". #AbolishPolice
