My Father In Law’s Death’s from Covid19 shouldn’t have happened but I don’t want condolences. I want you to STRONGLY encourage EVERYONE you know to WEAR A MASK (thread 1/8)
We buried my father-in-law Marvin, aka Papa, June 22 after COVID-19 ravaged him for a month; he caught it in the hospital.

*Same day, in Tulsa, Trump says, “When you do testing to that extent you’re going to find more people, (2/8)
you’re going to find cases. So I said to my people, ‘Slow the testing down, please.’”

Papa had to go in the hospital May 8, *for the first time since birth* after a minor fall lead to a leg injury which required an inpatient procedure. He caught the virus during recovery. (3/8)
He never came home. He was totally healthy. He was being careful. They were not testing admittees to the hospital due to *scarcity of tests* It’s shameful that I feel compelled to tell the story behind his demise to dissuade those who conjure up dismissive ideas otherwise. (4/8)
I don't know where to start with those who say it’s a hoax. HOW DARE YOU?  It is magnificently indecent. Papa’s death is another untimely death in a sea of 125,000 U.S. deaths (and counting) that many ignore or rationalize for incredible and seemingly implacable reasons. (5/8)
What happened to my FIL is senseless and wrong. So is the acrimony between people in our country over the mere existence of the virus and what to do in response. THE VIRUS IS NOBODY’S FAULT, BUT IT IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY, including our state and federal governments. (6/8)
Knee-capping the CDC, the NIH, the WHO, the EPA and other agencies of good for the people objectively didn't help anybody. It is also obvious that our country has not come together as it should have for the corona virus as it did after 911 and Katrina. (7/8)
The DIFFERENCE IS a PRESIDENT WHO DIVIDES, for starters. This is not meant as an insult, but an observation. Surely, we can ALL get behind HATING THE VIRUS INSTEAD OF EACH OTHER.

We love you, Papa. You were a very good father & grandfather. And we wish we had more time. (8/8)
