Worst boss I ever had: a tale.

The company experienced some turnover and one of my team members was promoted to manager.
Now, she wasn't better at the job, just had more seniority so she got the nod.

She was a micromanaging queen! We had to account for our time down to 3 minute increments. Mind you, this was front line database support for a medical billing software company, a job where you honestly had to ask the person calling in to make sure stuff was on and plugged in.

(The often elderly nurses on the other end were sweethearts but technologically challenged)
Anyway, I came down with something and called in sick. Day one I'm told I'll need a doctor's note. Not in line with company policy but I feel like shit so I drag my ass to urgent care.

Doc tests me for strep (positive) puts me on antibiotics, and writes me a note. I'm supposed to be out several more days so I forward the not to evilboss. She says the note isn't good enough and that I have to come in.

Now mind you, I haven't taken a sick day at this company since I started and I had just covered for her ass when she was out for weeks earlier in the year but my note wasn't good enough? Oh hell no.

So I forwarded the whole email chain to the owners of the company. Got a prompt reply saying take all the time I need to get better. A couple hours later a company wide email goes out announcing evilboss is stepping back into her old role.

Moral of the story: don't fuck with me when I'm sick.
(Or anytime really, but my filters and inhibitions are way down when I'm sick)
