the cool thing about havin the autism is that there are games out there called things like Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic and they are made just for you specifically

(i am not playing the game as intended, i spent all this time designing a Perfect Starting City beforehand)
true to the pre-soviet russian experience, i built only houses and two churches, so now that i have finished the city, i can begin the fun: actually feeding people and giving them things other than the holy word
if you think this looks nice now, just you wait until i've respectfully outfitted this little Karelian backwater with khrushchyovka and socialist realist architecture
this is both true in the game and in real life
tfw you get the russian keyboard to use the game's helpful building label system realistically only to find that the game that is about making a soviet republic does not recognize cyrillic input for said building labels because the developers are slovakian and thus latincucked
the building label feature is otherwise pretty great though
sorry to ruin the atmosphere of your lovely dacha vacation but THE PEOPLE have need for steaks and consumer electronics
after establishing energy independence via coal at the Almaugolkom complex, i created Dzerzhinsk to begin nutritional independence. tomorrow i will develop Singrii and create a railroad loop to facilitate oil and plastic production and finally build the port district of Ruchyi
oil reserves in this region of karelia are buried beneath marshes, so i decided to turn Kuurlodym down the highway into a closed city and imported about a thousand laborers, connected by a private trolley line to the uranium mining area, where ill later develop a rail export line
the (barely-used) highway network between the ЗАТО Kuurlodym, Ruchyi, and Dzerzhinsk is now fully lit owo
just finished planning out Porzhaysk and nearby dachas/village housing in preparation for oil drilling operations and rail infrastructure in the western marshes

it's hardly as impressive/expansive as Ruchyi, but i'm still quite proud of how it came out, and it'll only grow nicer
gonna have to destroy some local biodiversity if i want to make a more timely rail link between Dzerzhinsk/Ruchyi (east) and Porzhaysk (west), but it's all in the name of progress
might come back to my Karelia map someday, but i wasn't really vibing with it atm, so now we shall say hello to the new towns of Almavary and Corasna, both sitting on opposite sides of the Strait of Tatary in far eastern russia
