guys, i’m really conflicted because if we go back to school normally i will start my internship at a dental practice and i need a mode of transportation because it won’t be provided, but my dad is the only one working right now and we are a part of the lower-middle income class

i cant get a job w corona and the unemployment rates. i’ve applied at so many places to no avail and i’m starting to feel hopeless, but i need a car or something so i can be able to go to my internship so i can complete my dental class and get my dental assistant certification.

granted, i do have a car that my mom passed down to me, but it’s from the 90s and it’s drained 4 batteries in the past year and all the repairs are costing so much more than it’s worth. it hasn’t worked since september or october bc there’s so many things wrong w it

i’m kinda debating on starting a fundraiser or something just so i can at least have a down payment to get myself a car to get me going even if it’s used to high hell all i want is a car that works and is safe and will help me get my education.

my only concern is is that i don’t want to seem like a beggar or insensitive because there’s so many much more important organizations to donate to. i just want to make sure i can get my education and have it help carry me into college.

i’m going to be a first gen college student (with the exception of my uncle on my dads side but he hasn’t talked to me in 5 years) and i don’t want to throw away my shot.
