So here’s my full thought on SFW/Minor-friendly groups in the fandom. I have no problem with them existing... but they NEED to have actual adults running them. Minors in general aren’t responsible enough to moderate a large group like that. 1/6

I’ve been hearing that part of the problem with the recent group that was formed was that members essentially started flagging or reporting artists on twitter that create NSFW content, even if the artist specified their account was 18+. 2/6

Another thing that rubbed people the wrong way was the way the group’s statement was worded, it implied that this was essentially breaking off from the Furry Fandom, and that they were furries “with morals”. 3/6

With stuff like The Burned Furs already part of the fandom’s history, that wording is concerning. But I’m also willing to bet that it might have also just been written by a teen who worded it poorly and didn’t run it by any adults before posting it. 4/6

This is why adults need to be running these groups, to supervise the minors within it and make sure they’re not doing things like attacking artists who create adult content or shaming adults who view it. 5/6
