So I contemplated for a while whether or not it was worth giving energy to this @thebronxunited situation. And wel, the math just ain’t mathing and it’s bothering me.
Firstly, so this point of action is not lost, let me start off saying GoFundMe will be reached out to so they can freeze this fundraiser.

Anyone who has donated should receive an email sooner than later asking if you still want your money to go to their cause.

Say no.
This is super important, as I’d imagine GoFundMe will still give them an opportunity to write a message to doners explaining the shift in their agenda.

SHARE THAT INFO. Don’t let people ignore that email cause the money will probably stay with them if a decision isn’t made.
If they won’t answer to the community, let them answer to GoFundMe.

Either way, at the end of the day, someone’s going to get an answer.
Onto the first point that was a huge red flag for me; this public statement.

This is the sorriest thing I’ve ever. I work in marketing & communications and there’s just no way I believe this statement is real.
Not only is there no proper letterhead, date, or no name of a person representing the organization. There is also no mention of Bronx United and the points it makes are so confusing.

Like I said, no mention of Bronx United, but @aminKnows and Kevin are named in the 1st line.
If Fordham BID was working with BU, they would’ve said that. They also make a note giving BU contacts of other businesses so BU can help them too.

Help them with what? Bronx United doesn’t do anything! They didn’t even clean Fordham, most of that job was done already.
Did you also pick up on them saying they’re “working on a date” to give them all the money in hand.

So y’all wanna show it off then? This is all for clout? I doubt the business that just lost goods wants to wait until a set date of your choosing to receive a donation they NEED.
The most embarrassing thing though is to think that an org like Fordham BID will “stand by” a bunch of individuals who have never done anything and are being confronted by their community for being scammers.

Is a non profit really going to put themselves in that position?
Actually, the most embarrassing thing was that they thought we’d believe they received a pristine piece of paper with a press release in the middle of a pandemic. 😭

For something that could’ve easily been done through email (and verified by the email address sending from FBID).
Enough of that 5th grade essay. Let’s move onto them waiting until June 22nd to come out with the plans they had, despite clearly having those intentions since creating their account in early June, and applying to become a business on June 11th.

(Public information is a bitch)
Now, this is VERY important, because they claimed to be starting a non-profit, when you can clearly see it says “not-for-profit corporation”.

Those are two different things and there’s one key difference; what happens with excess money.
Well you can read the definition yourself below. Clearly, members being able to benefit off the money earned from the not-for-profit is key.

They said they were starting a non profit, which is a lie. I wonder why they would do that? 🧐
Considering the small chance this isn’t all a scam and that they aren’t lying, it means they don’t know what they’re talking about or doing.

So why the hell should The Bronx want them managing $50,000 for their community? Cause they’ve got a BS letter backing them?
Ain’t one chance I believe any of this bullshit and the fact that their head honcho hasn’t said a peep on here in over a week says it all.

Innocent people don’t stay quiet for days/weeks while their community seeks answers. That’s reserved for the scammers.
I couldn’t sit here and read all this anymore cause it truly pisses me off. I’m not gonna sit here and watch this bullshit. I’ve seen people raise a million dollars on GFM without excuses. I have friends who have actually started non profits or work with them closely.

GTFOH
Yo @aminKnows, if you really want to start a non-profit; 1, actually register as a non profit, and 2, do it without other people’s money, or raise the money with that as your intent.

If you aren’t about that life, then get out of the nonprofit space because it isn’t for you.
. @aminKnows and if you and your friends ever grow the ovaries to respond to any of these threads made about you, we’ll be here.

Open ears.
And again everybody...

IF YOU DONATED TO THAT GODUNDME, MAKE SURE YOU RESPOND TO GOFUNDME’S EMAIL ABOUT GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK.

With that, I bid y’all ado cause these video games will not play themselves.
