There is alot of Debate around if Drew Lock is a lock as a QB1. Does he have what it takes to buck the trend of years past for the Broncos or will he become just another victim to John Elways QBs carousel that has seen 5 QBs come and go since Manning retired. Let dig in #fantasy
1, Weapons - Sutton Fant both showed they had tons of promise in 2019s and they the Broncos added a swell of talent to help support Drew Lock heading into 2020 bu adding Jeudy and Hamler, Albert O in the draft and that was after signing Glasgow in FA to shore up the OL. #fantasy
2, Broncos managed to score a full TD more points per game after Lock took over in week 13. The Broncos on 3rd down conversion percentages was one of the worst in the NFL up to that point once Lock took over they leaped to top 8.
3, The lowest sack percentage in the NFL last season belong to Drew Lock. He managed to get sacked at 1/3 the rate of Flacco the man he had replaced. Lock ended up with the #1 DVOA of the rookie QBs in 2019.
4, OC shifted from Scangarello to Shurmur. Scangarello shut down the passing game as early as the 3rd quarter to protect leads. He also favored a low ADoT that allowed the defense to win games.Shurmur has more aggressive offenses and been much more focused on deeper ADoT throws.
In Conclusion if Lock is even able to become an average QB given all that has been developed and put into place around him he should find his was as a Backend QB1 in 2020. If He turns out to actually be good he could some real boom protential for your fantasy team. #fantasy
