Its interesting and kind of scary to think that police brutality isn’t just one stand alone issue but a start to an interconnected system of institutions that need to be repealed / reformed
we defund the police, then we have to hold people accountable through court systems. well that has a lot of racial injustices within its instituion. We have to reform that
well if we’re reforming that then what about the people wrongly affected by the institution? We have prison reform. Release the prisoners and then thats a large population potentially without homes, now we need affordable housing
thats also a lot of people without work so we need employment / restorative justice programs. if they’re unemployed, they can’t afford healthcare so now we need universal healthcare. And how do we get all this? By voting but voter suppression is real. We have to change that too
its all connected. White supremacy has created this giant web of institutions to keep black and brown people out and disenfranchised. Why do you think people are still protesting? What makes you think this is some one-off thing? Why do you think people are so mad?
idk. correct me if I’m wrong
