Interesting how the war on platforms having encryption & privacy ramps up in tandem with a war on immigrants in tech.

This is super checkered. I don't want either of these at all. I like this nation being welcoming & vital & creative, all of which is under threat.

But it is notable. This is old vested powers, the Grotesque Old Punks, on multiple fronts trying to do in the newcomer arising forms of capital.

I hate taking any mirth in this but if the platforms face the end of encryption, (which these whacko loser rightwingers with zero technical chops/comprehension seem DESPERATE for),

The beneficiaries are society, developing DIY sovereign alternates.

I'm sorry i hate this thread because it starts w wrong impression. All I'm saying is that in some ways the destruction & ruin of the tech industry is my fantasy, & that I pray we can do better more human & important things with tech. With & for everyone, planetwide.
