Ready? Here is the latest Google Mobility from best to worst for Asia, USA, and Europe versus the base line (before Covid-19).

Took an average of retail, grocery, transit & workplace for overall mobility that has economic implication. Also shows retail sales alone.

Who& #39;s best?
Let& #39;s talk about overall average of mobility & then we& #39;ll talk about retail sales & recreation.

Best: Vietnam, South Korea, Norway, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Greece, Switzerland, Australia, Germany!https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πŸ‘πŸ»" title="Applaus-Zeichen (heller Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Applaus-Zeichen (heller Hautton)">

Let me show u only overall & it shows only Vietnam is back to normal. The USA & France are at the same level of -20% so middle of the pack & making good progress of recovery.

Read my write-up on Vietnam. Let& #39;s look at retail sales https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πŸ€—" title="Umarmendes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Umarmendes Gesicht">

Actually, Japan, Thailand & the USA are at the same level for retail sales by 19 June & that& #39;s -15% below baseline so that& #39;s pretty good recoveryhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πŸ‘πŸ»" title="Applaus-Zeichen (heller Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Applaus-Zeichen (heller Hautton)">

Italy, Australia & France not bad at -17%https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πŸ‘πŸ»" title="Applaus-Zeichen (heller Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Applaus-Zeichen (heller Hautton)">

Worst: Sweden, India, the Philippines, the UK, Finland, Ireland, Singapore, Malaysia

I forgot to include Hungary & Poland & Portugal. Hungary is doing so well too! Chart below is overall mobility!
Here is retail sales & recreation: Norway & Hungary!!!! Poland too!

So the stars of Europe are: Norway, Hungary, Greece, and Poland & Germany!!!!
U& #39;re like, how is Sweden WORST if there& #39;s no lock-down?

Guys, they are going to parks! My average does not include parks + homes. So here I show retail sales & parks. You can see that the Nordic people are totally all about parks!!! That said, the Norwegians are shopping + parks
Seems like Asian economies are not embracing parks as much as the Europeans & Americans.

Look at India, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand etc.

They are not doing more parks & also not shopping more!!! So what are they doing?
The biggest increase of residential mobility (or shall I say just staying at home way more) are Asian economies, UK, Ireland, Portugal!!!

The most home-bodied people are:

Singapore
The Philippines
The United Kingdom
Ireland
India
Portugal
Sri Lanka
Indonesia
Malaysia
This is the USA mobility vs pre-Covid-19:

Parks +60% (good - healthier)
Home +9% (did u see home sales)
Grocery 0 (normal)
Retail sales -15%
Transit stations -28%
Workplaces -36%

Clear that some sectors gaining & some not & Americans changing perhaps for the better!!!
Interestingly, France just looks like the USA (same score of average):

Parks +44%
Home +9%
Grocery -4%
Retail -17%
Transit -27%
Work places -30%
Japan is different: Doing less of everything but home!!!! +9% like the USA & France for residential.

This is likely good for residential related stuff as people spend more time at home will try to beautify their homes!!!

Why aren& #39;t Japanese people hiking more??
This is the UK: More parks + more home! And the home bit is way higher than the USA, France & Japan so British people are loving their already nice homes even more!!!

More gardening, DIY etc projects??? Very interesting!!!
As the Norwegians are special, let& #39;s look at them. Very interesting. They are doing more of retail, more of grocery (very expensive there if I recall from my visit ages ago), more PARKS, less transit, less work & less home!!!!

They are social!!! Good good!
Let& #39;s give a little attention to Greece as the coverage has been rather negative in terms of economics but this Covid-19 thing is totally good for Greece! Doing well! What are the Greeks doing? More grocery, more park, & a bit more home! Can& #39;t blame them! Beautiful country!
South Korea is looking rather European in its mobility trends :

More parks!!! A lot of parks! More grocery! About the same w/ home (smudge more) & shopping is less but getting normal!

Unlike Europe, work & transit almost normalized!!!
Here is Taiwan: Seems good to me! Taiwanese don& #39;t shop as much, more parks, work is MORE & home slightly more!

Man, they are saving more money & getting healthier!!!
Let& #39;s see what the Vietnamese are doing:

Less shopping!!! -9% (normal trends vs others)
More grocery!!! (pho food at home)
Not so much park - need to get healthier guys
More work & more home!!! So saving more???
Transit almost normal!!!
India mobility:

Staying at home much much more!!! +15%
Much less shopping & eating out as it& #39;s -57%
Less parks!!! -50%
Less transit -38%
Less work!!! -34%

So saving but not so much income either. Net negative still!
The Philippines is more intense - Filipinos are staying at home so much more +27%

Not much of everything else as activities still down, even grocery!!!
Australia is interesting as it is a beautiful country w/ plenty of parks, beaches etc but Australians are not doing more of it!!!

They are doing more grocery shopping & staying home & other activities normalizing except transit that& #39;s still >1/3 down.
Let& #39;s talk about my beloved city Hong Kong:

Not shopping more but almost normalized at -10% (retail sales still bad)
More home cooking & more homey!!! I can concur! I am doing more cooking of random stuff!

Other activities almost normal but down.
