I will be participating in the #TWITCHBLACKOUT tomorrow, so there will be no stream.

However, I think I should probably address my thoughts on the matter. I've been mulling it over all day and I think I've finally come up with something concrete.
#TWITCHBLACKOUT

I won't be streaming tomorrow because I want to support the spirit of the movement. But do I think this will be effective long term? I do not.

One day of streamers taking the day off will not significantly impact Twitch's bottom line.
Additionally, I think silence on this issue is killer and completely the opposite of the purpose of this movement. I want to do more than stay quiet for one day. So although that's my first step, I pledge to do more. I will spend tomorrow learning, reflecting, and planning.
What streamers SHOULD be doing is making it so Twitch CANNOT ignore them. Starting dialogues, sharing stories, and making it so that people responsible are HELD responsible. Twitch can easily ignore a blackout. They can't ignore these stories on their front page.
Unfortunately, as a small streamer, there's not a lot I can do alone. But if any other streamers want to join me for an endeavor where we plan something larger than taking one day off, I am more than ready and willing. I want to change the industry, not just stay quiet.
