. @larazon_es: “It seems an open secret that Thomas Partey will leave Atletico this summer and join Arsenal who will pay his €50m release clause. Atletico Madrid are studying three names as a potential replacement. Mauro Arambarri, Idrissu Baba & Zambo Anguissa.
Barca were interested in Aubameyang in January & cheekily tried to see if they could get him on loan. AFC wanted £50m in January. Lautaro is Barca's no.1 priority but they could turn do Auba if they can't sign Lautaro as he would be hell of a lot cheaper now. ( @charles_watts)
Arsenal have accelerated their interest in 17-year-old Sporting Lisbon winger Joelson. He currently has a €45m buyout clause, which the Portuguese club are trying to increase to €100m. ( @ojogo)
According to Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal value Justin Kluivert at €25m & Mkhitaryan at €20m, but Roma want Arsenal to pay €10m plus Mkhitaryan.
A wide player is desired by Mikel Arteta, on that list of options is Willian who will become a free agent which is attractive. ( @David_Ornstein)

I understand there is interest in Tyrone Mings from a couple of big Premier League clubs.

Arsenal like him too, but whether that manifests itself in a bid, whether they could afford the sort of fee Villa are looking for is a completely different matter
David_Ornstein: “I spoke to Josh Kroenke and Edu (for last week's piece) and I can tell how impressed they've been with Mikel Arteta - as a person and professional. And I really think they are going to back him in a way that they should.” ( @TheAthleticUK)
David Ornstein: “Arsenal are looking to strengthen in central defense, central midfield and a wide player is of Arteta's liking (Willian could be an option). Some at the club are already fed up with Guendouzi and want him sold.” ( @TheAthleticUK)
David Ornstein says:
•David Luiz has signed a 1-year contract at Arsenal.
•Cedric Soares has signed a 4-year contract at Arsenal.
•Pablo Mari has signed a 4-year contract at Arsenal.
David Luiz is close to signing a new one-year deal at Arsenal. ( @SkySportsNews)
Arsenal are also still hopeful of making Pablo Mari a permanent signing with the club retaining an option to buy the defender for a fee believed to be £13.5m. ( @SkySportsNews)
Arteta on Mari: “We’ve been trying to get the deal done, we were happy with what Pablo can bring to us. I think the club will announce that as quick as possible when everything is sorted. There were some legal issues that needed to get done, but our intention is to keep him.”
Mikel Arteta on signing Cedric on a permanent deal: “It was the plan from the start. He’s been so, so unlucky because he was injured when he joined & then he had a fracture in his nose. We think he’s a player that will improve & will help the squad depth. Hopefully we can do it.”
Mikel Arteta on Leno: "We thought it was going to be a more significant injury, we don't know the extent of the injury still but we know the cruciate ligaments are not damaged. That was the biggest fear at the start. He was more positive & in less pain today so that's good news"
Arteta on Martinelli: "We had some really bad news again yesterday. In training in the last action he got hit by another player. He’s damaged his knee, the doctors are assessing the extent of the injury but it’s not looking good at all. He’s looking at months"
Arteta on transfers: "We have to assess the financial situation we have & the results & where we finish in the season will dictate whether we have a narrow gap or a bigger gap to do any deals. I think we are going to have to wait another 4-6 weeks to see what we are able to do"
Mikel Arteta on whether Sokratis and Xhaka will be involved against Southampton: "Well, we don't know yet - they haven't trained fully with the team yet. Let's see how they are tomorrow & if they can be involved in any way with the squad. But they are not yet ready"
Arsenal teams news:

Granit Xhaka & Sokratis are back in full training.

Pablo Mari (left ankle), further assessments & specialist consultations to take place in forthcoming days to establish recovery programme. Likely to return to action in 2-3 months.
After detailed assessments, Bernd Leno suffered moderate ligament sprain during Brighton (a) on Saturday and is aiming to return to full training in 4-6 weeks.
Gabriel Martinelli (left knee), sustained cartilage injury during training on Sunday. Further assessments & tests to take place forthcoming days.

Cedric Soares, integrating back into full training. Aiming to be available for selection after Sheffield Utd (a).
Arsenal have been hit by another injury setback with fears Gabriel Martinelli could miss the rest of season after suffering a knee complaint in training. ( @David_Ornstein)
The injury occurred on Monday & although Martinelli completed that training session, he reported discomfort afterwards and underwent a scan on Tuesday to discover the full extent of the problem. Early indications suggest it could be meniscus damage. ( @David_Ornstein)
