Took a while to get in touch with my family but they're safe.

The coastal sites, where the earthquake hit hard is home to primarily Indigenous and AfroIndigenous kin. Those who are non-Spanish speakers and in rural areas (where aid is already minimal) are affected the most. https://twitter.com/diarioelfortin/status/1275457797598003200
I am in contact with a few folks in the state. So far, none of them are affected or need immediate aid. If you are in contact with anyone who does, please reach out and I will begin crowdsourcing for immediate relief funds.
On the phone with my family, flashbacks of the 2017 earthquake that destroyed our homes are hitting hard. It's difficult to support from a country away but check in w/your kin. Check in w/your friends. Let them know that none of this has to make sense but let them know you know.
UPDATE: a Black trans sibling I am in community with has family in MX who was affected by the earthquake. House walls have too many cracks & they are not safe to stay inside. I have committed to crowdsource for them. Please send donations via Venmo or Cashapp at MigrantScribble.
All your donations mean so much. $532 have come in so far. I wanna see if we can crowdsource 1K for them and wire it today (I'm on PST), and they can access the cash tomorrow or Thursday the latest.

Black folk in MX are amongst the least protected and this relief means a lot.
Also want to thank you for the retweets, those help tremendously.
