Horrific video showing Ahmed Erakat, 24, bleeding to death after being shot by Israeli forces at a checkpoint near Jerusalem today.

He was on his way to pick up his mom and sister for his sister’s wedding tonight.
Ahmed’s own wedding was scheduled in a week.

Yet another extrajudicial killing by Israeli soldiers and comes just a day after a another solider was sentenced to “community service” for an extrajudicial killing of a fisherman from Gaza.
All international media is running headlines on how Ahmed was killed after a “suspected attack” on Israeli soldiers.

Why would a guy on his way to pick up his sister from the beauty salon for her wedding later THAT day attempt to attack to soldiers at checkpoints.

Stop the BS.
This Israeli narrative asserts the idea that Palestinians are less than human, savages, who are void of day to day lives, of aspirations, ambitions and urgency, and are just mindless terrorists seeking to destroy “civilized” Israelis.

It is a racist and dehumanizing narrative.
This transcends beyond the physical violence to become psychological violence against every Palestinian.

Every Palestinian, including myself, who watches the video of Ahmed Erekat bleeding for over 50 mins must think to themselves is my life really that worthless?
PLO top official @ErakatSaeb (he is the slain Palestinian’s uncle) shared this photo of the invitation for the wedding of Ahmed Erekat’s sister.

It clearly shows the wedding was scheduled for June 23 from 7 to 10pm.
The Israeli army released this video to justify their extrajudicial killing of #ahmaderekat.

It doesn’t look like an attack. Looks like a human error or a technical issue. He must’ve been terrified. He gets out to explain & he gets hit in the head instead
Also even if, and that’s a BIG IF, that was an attack, did he really deserve to be shot in the head &be left to bleed to death for over an hour?

It is called an extrajudicial killing. It is a shoot first, investigate later policy by a brutal Israeli occupation. #ahmaderekat
