Dear beloved Muslim sisters & brothers,
Do you know that cutting the nails
is part of FITRAH? Do you know that allowing it to grow is imitating the disbelievers, and that is a sin, even if it is in the name of fashion or beautifying self?

Do you know that cutting the nails

Short thread.
In an authentic Hadith, reported by Imam Bukhari & Muslim, the Noble Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:
âThe Fitrah (original disposition) is five things:
circumcision, removing the pubic hair, trimming the moustache, cutting the nails, and plucking the armpit hairs.â

circumcision, removing the pubic hair, trimming the moustache, cutting the nails, and plucking the armpit hairs.â
In another Hadith Reported by Imams Ahmad, Muslim and al-Nisaaâi; from Anas Ibn Malik (RA), 10 things make up the Fitrah (and one of them is cutting the nails), and the Prophet (SAW) set up a time that a Muslim must cut them, including the nails, which is a maximum of 40 days.
Explaining the Hadith, Imam Ibn Hajar said, in Fathul Bari:
Among the reasons why Allaah (SWT) prescribed these original dispositions on us is partly for the purpose of personal hygiene, differing from the practices of the disbelievers such as the Magicians,

"and [Allah] has given you shape and made your shapes good (looking)â
[Surah Ghaafir 40:64].

simply means, it is HARAM to imitate the disbelievers in their ways, although the apparent meaning of the Hadith is that whoever imitates them

simply means, it is HARAM to imitate the disbelievers in their ways, although the apparent meaning of the Hadith is that whoever imitates them
is a Kafir. It can grow to the level of kufr, one becoming a Kafir if he imitates them in their ways of worship, but on issues like this, the least you can say is that it is Haram.
