Do you want to become a ☁️ cloud engineer ☁️ or dip your toes in the cloud stuff?

Read this 🧵thread 🧵.

It might clarify some of your questions or it might give you a starting point in your journey.
Start with certifications from a cloud provider. What are the biggest cloud providers?

⧩ Amazon Web Services (AWS)
⧩ Microsoft Azure
⧩ Google Cloud
⧩ Oracle

They are in no particular order. Each of these cloud providers give you the possibility to pursue certifications.
Which one should you choose? I always recommend AWS because they're the biggest cloud provider right now, and I think they have a service for everything, really.

The next best thing is Microsoft Azure. They're catching up on AWS.

However, I still recommend AWS.
Why pursue the certifications? They introduce you to the ☁️ cloud ☁️, and it familiarises you with the services of the chosen cloud provider.

Even though each provider has different services, the skills are somewhat transferable. And they also have similar services as well.
Another important topic is networking. It's very obvious that you need, at least, basic networking knowledge.

Whatever cloud provider you choose, I recommend pairing the learning with this book. It's an amazing book that teaches you networking from the ground. It also has labs.
What did I choose myself? I went with AWS because we use it at work and because I am big fan of it. And as I said, they are the biggest cloud provider.

I like their services, what they offer, their infrastructure, their certifications, and pretty much anything about them.
If you're looking to get into AWS, there are multiple paths to do so.

⧩ If you are complete newbie, I recommend the Cloud Practitioner Certificate. This is what I did as well.
⧩ After that you can either choose the Solutions Architect or the Developer Associates or both.
It depends on what you focus. I plan on getting both.

After you get either of those or both, you can look into the professional certificates. Those are difficult and out of scope for now
