I won't be going to pubs or restaurants (even if I had childcare). I don't think its safe. My priority is making it as safe as possible for my children to, at some point, see their grandparents, and that means keeping our own use of public space to an absolute minimum
No question that scientific advice is being sidelined in order to try and restart the economy. There was always going to be a point in this crisis that focus would shift from lives to livelihoods. But do I trust this government to get the balance right? No
Of course there are legitimate counterpoints to the 'it's not safe yet' position. It may very well not be 'safe' for the foreseeable future. We may never develop a vaccine. The longer we wait to reopen businesses the longer the economic hardship will last
