A review of the @dvassallo 'Anyone Can Build a Twitter Audience' course!

THREAD 👇
1) My first tweet after taking the course:

200 rt
250 new followers https://twitter.com/petecodes/status/1275024241151401986
2) I bought it from the recommendation of @RandallKanna

She increased her followers by 8,000 from doing the course.

Lesson - social proof works! https://twitter.com/RandallKanna/status/1273333400443576322
3) The course is about 1.5 hours and you get access right after paying $49 +VAT - if you are price sensitive, it's best you know this isn't a cheap course but it's worth it IMO.

Keep reading to find out why...
4) Daniel emphasises

- Becoming an authority on a subject
- Sharing your knowledge generously

(Hence why my tweet banged)
5) Share your knowledge in a tweet not a link

Echoes point from @harrydry

Don't ask people to go to another link.

Make a tweet thread like this and put all the good stuff in your Twitter threads
6) Stop ASKING and start GIVING

Don't do the endless "engagement" tweets

e.g "what did you learn this week?"

Those are asking others to add value
7) Click More and go to your Twitter Analytics

Look at profile views divided by followers

You want to increase that ratio and track it.
8) Get people to follow you by replying to them

Retweets won't be enough to get followers

Replying increases your visibility
9) Tweet about things people ask you in DMs

- I need to do this more!
10) Tweet about decisions you've made

AKA share your knowledge
11) Go into past tweets and give updates

Example of me doing this when I got on the Indiehackers podcast: https://twitter.com/petecodes/status/1195392465945219072
12) Add your Twitter link in places like your blog.

I would add to this and say have it in your LinkedIN bio and in your email signature.

You probably send emails every day, right?
13) Make big ass twitter threads like this one! (meta)

It means people can share one whole story.

Instead of your thoughts being scattered across many tweets
14) If you do ask questions make sure they benefit your audience!
15) Daniel looks at a few good and bad twitter accounts.

Good - @shl - lots of "giving value" tweets, tonnes of engagement

Bad - Tim Ferris - lots of tweets are just blog links, no info added to the tweet. Very little engagement.
16) A couple of things I don't like in the course tbh

Daniel suggests setting up alerts for accounts so you can quickly reply.

I don't want someone to reply to every tweet I write. Less is more. Play it cool 😎
17) The course is an hour and a half but there are no chapters.

It would be better divided into a dozen chapters.

I watched it all in one go.

But for referring back, I don't know where to find the info.
18) Conclusion

Loads of value.
Definitely worth the price.
I got my first 1,000 like tweet

(My previous best was about 250)
19) More twitter followers means -
more people hearing what you say (intrinsic)
more people can use your product, read your blog post or buy your thing (extrinsic)
You can follow @petecodes.
