Lots of you now have a new perspective on what it is like to see the world differently 🌧️

So use this opportunity to educate yourselves about visual impairment & the barriers blind people experience.

Here is a thread of blogs, people to follow & info (please add to it) ⬇️
I use a white cane to navigate the world, it helps me find obstacles & avoid hazards. Unfortunately a lot of people don't pay attention to their surroundings 👩‍🦯

If you see someone using a white cane, please give them space!

Description of video here https://caneadventures.blog/2019/10/15/white-cane-awareness-day/
I am visually impaired, but like many blind people who use a white cane or guide dog, I don't have total vision loss.

I can see colours & read large print.

Many people don't understand visual impairment is a spectrum & this creates negative attitudes https://caneadventures.blog/2018/10/13/narrow-views/
Making the world more accessible means that blind & visually impaired people can participate equally! It removes these barriers.

For example, thanks to @NaughtyDog putting loads of effort into #TheLastOfUsParteII I spent all weekend playing it! 👩‍🦯🎮🧟‍♀️ https://www.twitch.tv/videos/657425313
My friends @blindseyeview @dog_gem & @blindequestrian are all visually impaired & passionate about horse riding! 👩‍🦯🏇

They blog about blind riding & give top tips on their blog https://blindseyeview.wordpress.com/blog-2/
