Also I can’t believe I’m daring to type this, but Fight for You by Jason Derulo (2011) samples Toto // Africa (which I’d never heard before) so my mind was BLOWN when I heard that for the first time and thought it had copied Derulo hahaha

Nicki Minaj // Your Love samples an Annie Lennox song and when I heard the original for the first time I went ‘ah this is a Nicki song’ and my mum nearly threw me out the car

Alexandra Burke’s Hallelujah is the only version I acknowledge. So proud of her for writing such a powerful song
