Muslims. Gently. Those of you who have found yourselves in the unfortunate position of making Karen jokes. Remember, itâs not from our tradition to make fun of or mock others. Also, as Muslims, we shouldnât use someoneâs name in a meme much like we wouldnât wan tv it if it were
one of our names. Imagine if that were Fatima or Khadijah. Or Something. Stop using Karen slurs and memes please.
Mocking and name calling is wrong in Islam. There are many Muslims falling into this mistake nowadays and itâs so very painful. We wouldnât want people using our islamic names like this. Also, itâs poor dawah to engage in this type of mockery.
My name happens to be Karen. Every time a Muslim uses the Karen meme I get hurt. I donât want this. My dad chose a good and proper name for me. On purpose. It has a nice meaning. Karen means pure. You guys are ruining it with your jokes.
Please think before you speak. Donât retweet memes or pictures that have anything to do with mocking the name Karen. It is a good name and you are helping to sully it for no good reason.
People keep saying to ignore it but this isnât Islamic. This thread is my naseehah.
