normalize deep talks-
and by deep talks i mean being able to answer “not great” when someone asks you how you’re doing and being able to explain why with full clarity if comfortable.
“how are you” “i’m good, how are you” shouldn’t just be a simple and generic conversation. “how are you” “insert actual feeling good or bad, how about you” should be normal.
i remember my spanish class always making us practice “como estas” “estoy bien, y tu” thinking ok but i’m not bien i’m in high school and i hate my life why does every language make u learn “i’m good” and not “i’m not doing great right now”
and then i realized its bc DISPLAYING EMOTIONS ARENT NORMALIZED AND WE ARE ALWAYS AUTOMATED TO SAY HEY HOW R U DOIN IM GOOD THANKS HOW R U EVEN WHEN WE R NOT GOOD
i stg someone’s gonna ask me how tf am i and i’m probably gonna respond w i’m good bc i don’t even wanna start w them imma just send them the link to this thread
