I put my microphone in front of a 7 week old baby red squirrel.
I have recently become a “mum” to four baby red squirrels after their mum was unfortunately hit by a car. Over the past two weeks, they have gained my trust and recognise my voice. They remain in the wild and I visit them every day. â˜ș
They are the BEST models to photograph! 😍đŸ„ș😂
FAQ
Why are you so close? Their mother was killed by a car. The entire time they have been on the ground, I have been in the forest with them.

Would they have survived without you? Unlikely. Even if at 6 weeks old they were able to forage, they would have died from dehydration.
Are you worried that taming them will cause problems in the future? If I lived in a town or city then yes. But I live in a village in North Sweden where there are about 15 residents that are mostly 65+. Additionally the woodland is private land.
The level of trust is extraordinary. I am the only human these baby squirrels have ever met. They have provided me with so much joy and gratitude. I will continue to protect them 💚
The squad doing what they do best... eating 😂
Not only do I photograph baby squirrels, but I also photograph adults jumping 😍😂
