A message to the FT community
I want to start by saying I'm glad Luca is safe and with his parents at the moment, wishing him all the best.
I've joined ft about 2 years ago, but really involved in it about a year or so ago, and it has mostly been a pleasant experience. The one constant problem I have seen throughout my stay here is mental health.
People getting bullied for their opinions, for their sexuality, for how they look etc. This is not normal, AT ALL. This is supposed to be a platform to talk about football and have fun with genuinely good people, but sadly, these days it's not
Twitter is such a toxic place these days, with people thinking it's cool to bully others because they are not the same, sometimes even creating new accounts in order to not get caught. Most people, knowing it's almost impossible to get caught, think it's okay, when it's not
We need to do better, because we do not know what our words do to people, and most of the times we find out too late the consequences.
I'm not talking about this from a higher moral ground. I have bullied, and have been bullied myself, and if I hurt you in any way shape or form on this platform, I'm so so sorry. I am trying everyday to be a better person.
Instead of saying hurtful words to someone, even a "good morning" can change their day into something good.
This community needs to change, and it needs to change quickly. Most of us are still young, and have no experience as to how the real world works.

I know that, for the faults it has, football twitter has some genuinely good people. I want those people to be appreciated, because they deserve attention and recognition, not the bullies hiding behind the screen.
Luca, we are here for you, and whoever is thinking about suicide, we are here for you. Please stay safe. Mental health is a real issue.
I've done some grammatical errors and posted the same message twice 😅 sorry
