READ THREAD!

Hey, guys. Other people are telling us awae stans to tweet more abt the current issues in the world instead of tweeting NETFLIX ANNE 700K. I just wanted to get my opinion out there.

First of all, I am very much aware of what's happening around the world. Not all of them but I try to educate myself every day. For example, here in the Philippines there is the issue abt Terror Bill. Basically, it says that it will give the police and military the power to ++

Arrest anybody who has Terrorist-like intentions. But what bothers me is the fact that they deem that one individual is a terrorist if they speak ill against the government. They will have the power to arrest an individual, lock them up for 10 days without even a warrant or case

Anyways, at first I didn't know what it was all about until I read more articles about it. It clearly disregards the freedom of speech which I think shouldn't be allowed at all.

With the other issues like the Black Lives Matter Movement and other injustices towards indigenous groups. I got to know more about it through social media. Educated myself about it and also signed petitions.

I am not making this aboit myself. I'm just stating my opinion. I am an AWAE stan and I clearly want the show to be renewed BUT I AM NOT FORGETTING ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THE WORLD.

I will always stand against any injustice that is being committed towards society and I will always choose to speak up.

Regarding the people who are hating and judging us. Hear me out. I watched Anne With An E bc I read several articles that said it shed light to a lot of very sensitive topics. When I watched it, it blew me away. It hit different bc most of the issues that they discussed were ++

Actually happening lately in the world. The second time I watched the show, I convinced my mom to watch it with me. I figured why not educate my family starting with my mom with the issues that are happening today. I educated her more about Racism and discrimination towards ++

Indigenous people. It felt great to educate somebody about these topics bc the show did great in handling them. We all know that there are some shows who already discussed certain issues but poorly handled them.

I'm not tweeting this bc I am biased or anything. I'm just saying that media can be one of the most powerful platforms to send a message. Most of the behavior that people have are probably influenced by the Media.

And I've never felt as brave as I am in voicing out my concerns after watching the show. We're fighting for a show which actually addresses the injustices of our society. It's not just a show. It actually shows us of what is really happening around the world. The reality of it.

So if you're saying that we awae stans are insensitive. Let me just remind you that this show portrayed A LOT of very heavy and sensitive topics than any of the shows out there. We believe that by continuing this show, we can address more issues and we can be able to educate ppl.

Anne With An E is not just a show.
