Houston is getting ravaged by covid-19. As a native Houstonian, this breaks my heart. It is so hard to watch from 1100 miles away. My parents call me daily to talk about their fears of going outside. I want to go home. But as IP and EH, I know I cannot. 1/n
The fact that Texas Children’s Hospital is now accepting adult patients confirms my fears that the situation is getting very bad. To my friends back home, I beg that you wear a mask. I’m not sure what the purpose of this thread was other than to voice my concern for my hometown. I wish I could see my parents. I wish I could go home and work alongside my IP friends in Texas. 4/n
Houston, I really hope things don’t continue the way they’re going. To my fellow Texans and Houstonians, just know your out-of- state friends are watching and hoping for the best. I’m not sure there’s anything else can we do at this point.
