VSB Meeting: Janet Fraser's intro has lots of acknowledgements that they've heard from BIPOC about anti-racism work, they're trying to do a lot of education and that "more work needs to be done"
First motion: Vancouver Board of Education staff and contractors Urban Systems, meaningfully consult and cooperate with Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh Nations in development of VSB's Land and Asset Strategy plan to ensure that it is informed by, not in conflict with
principles of these Nations' interests and land use plans.

Further the VSB trustees will consider and incorporate the input from each Nation in the development and implementation of specific projects under the Land and Asset Strategy.
Person who raised this notion talking about spike in anti-black violence and systemic racism and colonialism, emphasizing that racism cannot be dealt with quickly and easily. Ending with a quote from local indigenous speaker asking what VSB is actually doing for reconciliation.
Another person speaking now, urging support for the motion on the basis of land acknowledgements.
Trustee with amendment mostly based on wording, clarifying some things about how that consultation would work.
Amendment of inclusion of the word "draft" was approved. Rest of the amendment now being discussed, would include creating protocol agreement and MOU with the nations mentioned.
