In 2009, when Bill Clinton flew to North Korea to negotiate for the release of two American journalists, Euna Lee and Laura Ling, it was Bing who picked up the tab. Those names should sound familiar.

You may remember Ling and Lee because they popped up in 2015 in John Podesta's emails, pictured eating a slice with a small girl.

Was Bing under indictment and preempting his own arrest? By all accounts he was extremely wealthy and connected, leaving behind a fortune worth millions. Now that he's taken care of it, we may never know.
