I’m a talented writer, but am rarely published. Am never solicited. My book has been rejected by nearly every publisher I know of. When I do publish, no more than 10-15 people read my work. With each rejection, my art brings me less joy. Legit question: Why continue writing?
For added context: I work for a nonprofit--specifically homelessness prevention--& we've been operating in crisis mode since the pandemic began. I find real value in my work, but it's left me w/ little time & no energy for my art. It can feel as if I've lost my creative identity.
Curious if anyone else has felt the very real possible loss of one's creative self.
