If you think what's happening to tenured, TT faculty is bad (pay cuts, workload, retirement matching) wait until you hear about staff's or adjuncts' typical 12 month life.

We're either in this together or we're not. If you have tenure, I need you to be brave & speak out.
As a staff member, I had a 12 month, Pulitzer prize-winning faculty member berate me because I ordered "wrong". My (faculty) supervisor said nothing. I had up deescalate.
As a staff member I was asked to do something that I was uncomfortable doing, I stated my discomfort, said I didn't want to do x because if it went wrong I could be fired by the institution. I was told to do it anyway.
As a staff member I sat in a department meeting where faculty disparaged me and the other staff member and then was dismissed from the meeting.
As a staff member I enforced University policy and then a junior faculty member condescendingly explained how I messed up my job and was creating barriers for faculty
As a staff member, following best practices, I posted something through the institution's Facebook account (approved by marketing) and had several faculty members complain to my boss. I then had marketing edit my post to be less "upsetting"
As a staff member in each of these instances, I literally risked my job. In most of them, I had no union. No protection. I live in an at-will state.
Use your tenure for good. Maybe just this once.
