I've said before that natural selection is the only right-wing force. The destruction of statues and monuments, renamings, and defacings we've seen and will continue to see speak to the Progressive faith's anthropology - their false consciousness - at odds with selection itself. https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1274816919250636801
Nick Land writes, "All health, beauty, intelligence, and social grace has been teased from a vast butcher’s yard of unbounded carnage, requiring incalculable eons of massacre to draw forth even the subtlest of advantages."

This is true not just of organisms, but of societies.
Have you considered what it means that Rome is built on the fratricide of Romulus and Remus? What of Christian salvation? It is found in the blood of Christ. What we have is not - cannot be - without sacrifice.

All that we have was carried here on the backs of scapegoats.
The precondition for twitter is nothing less than eons of bloodletting, genocide, slavery, rape, and mass death.
To be well-fed, warm, and secure enough to devote time to poasting...this is a highly unnatural state of affairs and it is one we would do well to remember. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" is right, though not perhaps for the reasons so many think.
These statues of bad men were not erected so that everyone would remember how horrible they were. Rather, it is because they built something - or symbolized the building of something - that they are honored. The bloody struggle to extract something of worth from entropy and chaos
Witness the suggestions of Progressives that we build statues of fictional characters, actors, and gourmands. Replace Francis Scott Key with Goku, rename Columbus, Ohio "Flavortown"...this is the mark of a psychology trapped in unending simulacra. This is what we mean by "Reddit"
BAP discusses how as the Greek city state declined, it became increasingly fixated on sensual pleasure. Pastry recipes abounded and even the laconic kings of sparta developed a taste for goose liver. This is what degeneration means - the optimization of taste over nutrition.
Taleb talks about the Libyan wrestler Antaeus, who was invincible as long as his feet remained in contact with the ground. Hercules killed him by lifting him into the air and crushing him to death.

To lose contact with the earth - with the contours of reality - is death.
History is not about Progressive niceties because the very existence of such niceties is contingent on history. One remembers - and perhaps even honors - the past so as not to forget the true nature of things. So as not to be tricked by the comforts of one's surroundings.
In a time of visual mass communication this is truer than ever. The European refugee crisis was precipitated by a photograph. The ongoing riots by a video. The Vietnam War ended and the Syrian War almost began because of images. To be easily moved by such things is to be a slave.
If you don't understand the costs of civilization, if you grow up surrounded by statues of Goku or Harry Potter - protagonists whose success is guaranteed from the outset - you can be convinced to abolish the police or open the borders by a sad picture. This is what they want.
This is the true meaning of Santayana's warning.

If you forget what it took to get here, don't be surprised when you find yourself back where you started.

"It could be worse (and almost certainly will be)."
