Just a reminder that when talking to Zionists sometimes you'll get the response "well, what about the Arabs? What about Saudi?" This is always a what-about-ist, blame-shifting tactic. "What about those other Arabs, they're bad too!" 1/?
Not only is this an attempt to make Arabs as an ethnic group seem more "deserving" of what Israel is doing, but it also ignores that VERY few anti-Zionists dont know that Saudi is ALSO a genocidal, colonial, ethnofascist project. They don't cancel each other out.
And there are also many, many Arab activists who are fighting the ethnonationalism in the Gulf, who are also anti-Zionist. They're not mutually exclusive, and painting them that way is harmful.
This isnt to say that all Arab anti-Zionists are also vocal about the ethnonationalism in their own states, because a lot of us aren't. But that education and work within the community is already being done by Arab activists, don't insert your voice where it doesnt belong.
And BEFORE I see people in my mentions:
-Should Arabs acknowledge and fight against the ethnonationalism in our communities? Yes.
-Are a lot of current governments propagating genocides helped by the US? Yes.
-Does this detract from Israel ALSO being genocidal? Not a single bit.
Sorry but you're not going to what-about me into not saying that Israel should not exist. Israel is a settler-colonial project that has genocided millions of innocents, and Zionism as an ideology is inherently racist and if you ARE a Zionist, you have blood on your hands.
^^And me saying that while being an Arab does not mean that I do not also think that Saudi and a great number of other countries (including the US) are ALSO violent settler-colonial projects that have genocided millions of people, you racist piece of shit. End of thread.
(End of thread note that sometimes it's not even Zionists that you'll have to say this to, and that the OP this is subtweeting identifies as an anti-Zionist. Just food for thought :) )
