(1) Discovered the hashtag RainbowBookStack on Instagram where people are taking pictures of spines of books arranged like a rainbow for #PrideMonth . Almost all of the pictures I looked at have used *zero* books with LGBTQ+ themes or written by Queer authors...

(2) It’s just a random assortment of colourful books. No relation to pride or the queer community. In light of this please throw your brilliant LGBTQ+ themed books and authors into this chain, so we can get a *real* selection of rainbow books for #PrideMonth . I’ll start.

(3) A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara Quite simply one of the best novels I’ve ever read. Heartbreaking and so devastatingly beautiful. I’ve never cared so deeply about fictional characters this much. #PrideMonth

(4) The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne. One of those epic stories that sweeps an entire life story and leaves you feeling empty yet satisfied when you turn the final page. #PrideMonth

(5) The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Now *this* is a love story. How my heart ACHED reading this. It’s pure magic. #PrideMonth

(6) The Color Purple by Alice Walker. Extraordinarily ahead of its time for the themes it explores. Celie is an incredible protagonist & her voice soars. (The most current edition has a new foreword by Alice Walker, with her scathing thoughts on the movie adaption ) #PrideMonth

(7) Over The Top by @jvn. We love him. We love him. We love him. A poignant excellent memoir from a brilliant icon. #PrideMonth

(8) We Have Always Been Here: A Queer Muslim Memoir by Samra Habib. A beautifully written memoir by a voice we so seldom hear in literature. I can’t even begin to explain how much I learnt from Samra’s words and experiences. #PrideMonth
